Red Oak Creek Relief Interceptor, Segment RO-2 / Trinity River Authority

Project Description

This project, located in northern Ellis County, consists of approximately 5,600 linear feet of gravity sewer 27 inches, 30 inches, and 36 inches in diameter, which will serve the Cities of Cedar Hill and Ovilla. The construction of this project is underway at this time. The new sewer line will be located adjacent to the existing Red Oak Creek Interceptor and will replace this portion of the existing interceptor. This project also includes replacement of Meter Station MS_OV1. Mike Burge was the project manager and project engineer for this wastewater project. He was directly responsible for the design of the replacement sewer and meter station and is assisting TRA during the construction phase. Easement acquisition was completed by TRA and the construction completed in 2024 at a cost of $6.9 million. This project had some additional challenges as a result of impacts from the pandemic and several property owner concerns during construction.
