The Construction Representative researches and interprets contract requirements to determine whether construction work is proceeding in substantial compliance with plans, contracts, specifications, and special provisions. The Construction Representative does not supervise any contractor’s activities. Instead, this employee serves as the field agent for the Project Manager, operating under his/her direct supervision. The Construction representative will perform office and field tasks to assist the Project Manager in administration of the construction contract.

Requirements:

• HS Diploma, or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy construction
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel

Duties include:

• Reviewing progress schedules, shop drawings, and schedule of values submitted by Contractors
• Attending and participating in preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, and other job conferences as required
• Serve as Project Manager’s liaison. Assist contractors in understanding the intent of contract documents. Assist PM in evaluating suggestions for modifications
• Conduct on-site observations of work in progress to assist PM in determining if work is proceeding according to construction documents
• Maintain detailed daily job site reporting.
• Review pay applications, create change orders, and other general administrative tasks for construction
