City of Allen: Ridgeview Drive Paving and Drainage Improvements
Project Description
Ridgeview Drive was extended from Chelsea Blvd. to the southbound frontage road of U.S. Hwy. 75 where there is currently no roadway. Ridgeview Drive west of Chelsea Blvd. has been constructed and the Texas Dept. of Transportation (TxDOT) is at the 60% design level for the Ridgeview Drive/U.S. Hwy. 75 interchange reconstruction. Consequently, design of the remaining segment of Ridgeview Drive is being completed in order to complete this important transportation link in the northern portion of the City. This segment of Ridgeview Drive is approximately 3,650 linear feet in length.
Ridgeview Drive will be an ultimate 6-lane divided thoroughfare; however design is currently being completed for a 4-lane divided thoroughfare (accommodating the additional 2 lanes in the future). In addition, the roadway design will also include an enclosed storm drainage systems and a one-way direct roadway connection from the southbound frontage road of U.S. Hwy. 75 to westbound Ridgeview Drive (right turn lane). Also included will be the room for a 12’ trail on the north side of Ridgeview Drive. Traffic signal improvements at the intersection of Ridgeview Drive and Chelsea Boulevard are also being included in the project along with street lighting for the entire corridor.
