Project Description
Del Papa Distribution Center (contracted through HDA Architects): SPI was contracted by the HDA Architects to complete the civil site design for the Del Papa Distribution Center in Texas City, Texas. SPI was responsible for coordinating the topographic survey and platting of the 26-acre site, which also included coordinating and attending mandatory planning meetings with City staff, Planning Board and City Council. SPI prepared the civil construction drawings and documents, including clearing plan, site grading, paving, joint layout, drainage, striping, fire access route and fire loop, and on-site water and sanitary utilities, coordinated with the City’s engineering department sanitary and waterline extensions to the site, coordinated with City staff for a civil site permit in order to begin construction early, coordinated with TxDOT for a shared driveway permit with adjacent landowner, coordinated with Galveston County Drainage District #2 regarding the site’s drainage outfall. The project included over 35,000 square yards of concrete pavement, 3,500 linear feet of HDPE storm sewer (24”-48” diameter), 1,800 feet of 6” sanitary sewer,1,800 feet of 2”-4” waterline, and 3,000 feet of 10” fire loop waterline. SPI provided on-call construction phase services such as shop drawing and submittal reviews, RFI responses, and any other services as requested.
